Be The Change!
Wednesday, January 25 @ 9, 10 and 11 a.m.
The Chicago Police Department will be on campus Wednesday, Jan. 25, conducting presentations about the application and hiring process for Chicago police officers. Presentations will be held at 9, 10 and 11 a.m., in the Performing Arts Center of the Robert M. Collins Center (R Building) located on the east side of Triton’s campus, 2000 Fifth Ave., River Grove.
Community members are invited to attend an event at Triton College to learn more about how they can start a rewarding career in which they’ll serve and protect members of their community.
“Chicago city leaders have promised to bolster the ranks of the Chicago Police Department by 1000 officers. This unprecedented initiative provides everyone in the Chicago area an opportunity to follow their dreams of a career in criminal justice,” said Triton College Criminal Justice Administration Program Coordinator Gregg Catena. “We believe the diversity of the Triton College community will be a tremendous advantage in the recruiting effort. We look forward to supporting our students and our community in this program.”
The presentations are open to the entire community. Prospective applicants can apply to become police officers on site following the presentation. The Chicago Police Department is accepting applications through Jan. 31, 2017. Visit www.bethechangecpd.com for more information about applying to become a Chicago police officer.
During the application process, police recruits can also earn their ‘Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report’ (“POWER”) physical fitness test certification on Triton’s campus. Triton’s POWER test is accepted by more than 70 area police agencies, including the Chicago Police Department. Click here for more info on the POWER Test.
