The TRIO Student Leaders Club will be open to any Triton College student and will begin meeting in spring 2013. TRIO Student Support Services participants and allies are encouraged to become members to gain leadership, event planning and budget experience. Students will be charged to create programming for the campus that embodies the mission and vision of the TRIO Student Support Services program.
This club joins the list of other exciting clubs that provides skills and leadership experience for the students including T.C.S.A and Program Board. BriAnne Nichols, Advisor of the TSL, expressed how this club will benefit students not only around campus but in their future endeavors. “The goals of the group include increasing leadership opportunities for students and diverse programming that contributes to retention and success of all Triton College students” says BriAnne.
TRiO Student Support Services has been on campus for the past three years and is available to first generation, low income or disabled students with the purpose of helping assist those with transferring from a two year to a four year college increase the graduation rate and retention of students.
