On Monday, September 10th, Triton College hosted an open house for the University Center here on campus. For those of you who may not be aware of what the University Center is, or what they do there, it is simply a way for you to earn a Bachelor’s degree here at Triton College!
National Louis Universityoffers bachelor degrees in Early Childhood Education , Applied
Behavioral Science (ABS), and Management
Eastern Illinois Universityoffers a bachelors degree in General Studies
Benedictine Universityoffers a bachelors degree in Nursing
Governors State Universityoffers a bachelors degree in Health Administration, Social Work, and Criminal Justice
Southern Illinois Universityoffers a bachelors degree in Fire Service Management
Each University has an on-campus representative at Triton College to assist students with their academic decisions. Students will have to follow the admission process and apply before the deadlines of their selected institution. The open house on Monday was a very successful, and informative event. Each institution set up a table full of information, and goodies such as: mini hand sanitizers, pens, pencils, highlighters, fortune cookies and even a mini-lint roller (my fave). The open house also provided delicious food and punch to drink for those who were there to get some info. The food, which was excellent, was provided by Clavio’s Catering. I asked one of the representatives if professors from these universities come and conduct classes on Triton campus, to which the answer is yes. The University Center is located in the
B-Building, near the main entrance, across from the Welcome Desk. For more information go to www.triton.edu, click on the tab Academics, then click on University Center.
The University Center Open House was well attended. Marilyn Yirku (left) and Nancy Kacmarczyk (right) from Governors State University were available to answer questions.
